RIGHT NOW, THE CHIEF MINISTER IS A “PRISONER” OF THE BJP SAYS RPP

Dimapur, 15 October 2022: People have paid more attention to a recent social media update about the ED summoning the chief minister of Nagaland, and the opposition has pointed to it as a target or subject of inquiry. While the RPP stated in a written statement that “It is not a surprise that the Chief Minister was questioned by the ED for six hours. We anticipate additional grilling in the days ahead, as this interrogation is not the end.

There is no smoke without fire, notwithstanding the NDPP table-tipping and their claims that the ED questioning the CM is fake news. First off, the army reportedly refuses to speak, which indicates that something is off.

Second, a few months ago, the ED first questioned five of CM Rio’s closest confidants as part of Case No. ECIR/GWZO/09/2020/488, among whom was the Chief Minister’s Personal Assistant. Therefore, it makes sense that the Chief Minister would be questioned.

Everyone wonders whether the ED would follow the case through to its logical conclusion, but it is abundantly evident that the CM cannot evade the ED’s net. The fact that the Chief Minister is now a “prisoner” of the BJP would have serious consequences for the state.

Second, the RPP has learned that the ED is actively pursuing the sitting of 10 NDPP MLAs. There is widespread speculation that the ED has established cases of corruption against the 10 MLAs. Sources claim that these 10 MLAs could make a deal with the BJP to join the party.

The Chief Minister’s joining the BJP cannot be ruled out either, considering the ED’s persistent pursuit of the matter. There is nothing the party can do to change the terrible situation the NDPP is in.

Additionally, the NDPP stated in a digital press release yesterday that any news that has been reported on social media or by reputable news outlets is false and was made with the intent to harm the party and the chief minister. As a result of this serious matter of false statements, the party has filed a complaint to identify those responsible.
